100 Sleeves Challenge: Bangkok Balter Club

Original Artwork

First Sleeve for my project #100albumsleeves 🔥 yaaas!! I’m super happy and surprised by how this turned out.

I have this habit of linking music to years of my life and I chose to start with this EP because it was a vital part of my 2020 soundtrack. I discovered Phum Viphurit in February 2020, oddly his song “Hello, Anxiety” was playing on a radio station in Mexico City. (I mean oddly ’cause he’s from Thailand and Asian music doesn’t play often here). I fell in love with the song immediately, I related to his lyrics and found comfort in his happy melodies.

His music was perfect for the 2020 rollercoaster. “Bangkok Balter Club”, alongside his studio album “Manchild”, became regulars of my quarantine playlists. His songs give me bittersweet feelings, melancholic lyrics accompanied by comforting and happy tunes.

I feel like dancing while crying 😂.

Album Cover Redesign by franzmori

Right now I’m obsessed with the song “Pluto”, the third single in the EP. The girl I drew is Pluto, floating in her space, resting in her orbit, dancing to Phum’s music, surrounded by the colors of it. That song is the saddest thing, but somehow it still has a sense of optimism.
