This post is part of the 100 Sleeves: One hundred Album Covers Re-Designed project, a personal challenge I created for myself at the end of 2020. The goal is to create 100 album covers inspired by the music I’m enjoying at the moment.
A month ago I sketched a bat-winged creature inspired by seraphim.
I was listening to Cellar Darling nonstop while working on this art piece, so I decided to turn it into an album cover.
It wasn’t long ago that I ran into Cellar Darling’s song “Challenge”, and I was hooked.
I got a weird feeling from their music, as if they were part of old memories of mine, a fake nostalgia.
I later discovered the band is made up of past members of Eluveitie, they don’t sound like them, but my brain picked up the familiarities unconsciously.
I really liked this band. They go heavy without being too harsh.
I also enjoy the storytelling in their lyrics. Their song “Six Days” felt the most fitting to my art piece (something about the end of the world and a faithful man waiting for salvation).
