Sleeve #26 for my project #100albumsleeves !! officially I’ve been on this mission for 6 months😱 !
Last week a friend and fellow artist Sara Millefoglie recommended MÃ¥neskin to me. I fell in love instantly. I’ve heard they had recently won the Eurovision competition, but I kept postponing listening to them somehow.
Right from the beginning, I felt more emotion with their Italian lyrics than their English ones. Even if I don’t understand most of what they say, I feel the songs to be more intense and heartfelt.
I didn’t like their previous work as much, but the heavier and more rocker vibe of Teatro d’ira – Vol. I hooked me. If they continue down that route I might become a permanent fan.
A song that made quite an impression on me was the gothic rock Coraline. I looked up the lyrics and I was moved.
(Coraline wants the sea / But she is afraid of the water / And maybe the sea is inside her)

I had many ideas inspired by those lyrics, but only had time to develop one in the end. I ended loving this piece as it makes me feel a lot of things.
Like one of those moments, you feel like crying an ocean and the tears drown you…Or when emotions are so strong they come out of you violently and then you have to face the consequences.
And I understand the song is about a girl who couldn’t be saved from her demons… She wished for the ocean to swallow her, and so it did.
I made another version in white with digital blue watercolor, and it’s available as stickers, prints, apparel, and bags in my society6 shop.
