Sleeve #24 for my project #100albumsleeves, just one more to complete the first quarter 😱 !!
When I was a teenager I used to watch Telehit frequently with my brother. It was our preferred way of discovering Latin music and one of our discoveries was Zoé‘s “Love” from their album “Rocanlover“(2003). We will later considered ourselves fans when they released “Vía Láctea” from their album “Memo Rex Comander y el Corazón Atómico de la Vía Láctea“(2006).
When I came to México in 2008, Zoé just had released “Reptilectric“. It made me company for the most part of 2009 and listening to it helped me feel connected to my brother, who I was missing like crazy.

I don’t know why I felt like listening to that album again this week, but I’ve been enjoying it. I’m also not sure where I got the idea of a hand pouring the sky, it is just one of the ideas that hit me when I was listening to the music🤷🏽♀️.
At first, I thought of drawing mountains at the bottom, but I changed it to pyramids as a tribute to the original cover, making each pyramid represent each member of the band. I added the moon in honor of the song “Luna“.
When making the mockups I couldn’t decide on whether I liked a black or a translucent yellow vinyl the most, so I kept both. I’m thinking the yellow one could be the “limited edition” 🤭
I had some free time later and decided to explore another idea I had. I was inspired by the lyrics “Bajando por el triángulo del sol” (“Going down the sun’s triangle”) from the song “Reptilectric“. I combined a sun, a triangle, and a moon, and I incorporated the band’s name just using lines, everything keeping sacred geometry proportions.
