I got to know of @pommeofficial by searching for music in French. I don’t speak the language (très peu), but I wish I did, so sometimes I listen to music or watch TV programs in French.
“À peu près” (transl. ”Nearly”) is her debut studio album.
The song that hooked me was “Adieu mon homme” (transl. ”Goodbye my man ”), a really sad song about grieving someone😭.
But right now my favorite is “Ce garçon est une ville” (transl. ”That boy is a city”), a song about loving someone so much that being with that person feels like home, just right, like nowhere else.
As a reference, I used a still image from the music video for “On brûlera” (transl. ”we will burn”) after reading a comment by Pomme stating:
🐌”snails, because they are loathsome beings, which most people hate, are the metaphor for a love that is not accepted or outright rejected by some people, countries, cultures, and religions.”🐌
I also watched an interview where she mentioned she’s a fan of puns. Her artistic name is a pun derived from her last name Pommet —> Pomme, the latter meaning Apple🍎.
I wanted to mix the snails with an apple and to my surprise, I found there are some kinds of snails called “Apple Snails“🍎🐌.
I think the idea fitted perfectly with the pun narratives Pomme loves.🥰
