This post is part of the 100 Sleeves: One hundred Album Covers Re-Designed project, a personal challenge I created for myself at the end of 2020. The goal is to create 100 album covers inspired by the music I’m enjoying at the moment.
Same band as last week, different lineup, equally great music.
When Delain announced a massive lineup change I was ready to dislike the new material…
but with each single leading to the album’s release, it became clear to me that was impossible.
I fell in love again💜
More so when I saw they had a song featuring Marko Hietala (ex-Nightwish), who had been away from the public eye for a while (retired almost).

About the art
I took inspiration from the deep sea and I found a cute but weird tropical fish called Anomalopidae (flashlight fish).
These fish have a pocket of bioluminescent bacteria under their eyes that they can shut off and on by “blinking”.
I tried a more loose and painterly style this time, and even then I got a bit carried away😅.
