The last quarter of the year (2021) was a bit busy and complicated for me, and the blog got a bit neglected, but If you supported me on Ko-fi during that time then you know the 100 Sleeves project was still up and running. The following content was first posted on Ko-fi on November 20, 2021.
After the #octubreskine2021 challenge, I felt so drained and unmotivated to create I was scared I might drop the 100 Sleeves project altogether.
So I came up with doing yet another challenge (a Huevember – fan art version) to see if I could feel inspired again by doing something different. Fortunately for me, it worked!
As I was working on the Pink prompt, I was listening to “Casualties of Cool” by Canadian musicians Devin Townsend and Ché Aimee Dorval, and inspiration hit me.
The music for me felt like spacey/psychedelic country rock. So I went with the classic scene of a cow skull on a desert, but instead of the desert, it is the moon or another planet.
I imagined a magical scene happening between the horns, a kind of vision of another place.
I mostly used watercolor for this, and I edited it in Photoshop. I had a lot of fun making the skull all colorful, and I’m super happy with the final result.
